Brisbane Cruise Ship Terminal

Does the Brisbane rail system take you close to the new terminal?

I heard you can go out there by river cat and get off at Bretts Wharf and its just a short walk, but I was wondering about the rail.

Not really. The nearest station is Ascot, which is quite a walk from the terminal and really only has a peak hour only service. There is a frieight only line nearby and there's been talk that, with all the new development that the new terminal is part of, they should extend the suburban service into the area using this line, but I doubt that will happen.

The easiest public transport is the City Cat to Brett's Wharf and then a casual stroll along the river - about 5 mins.
