Liquor store with wine near LA Port

We are sailing on the Island Princess this fall and would like to have a few bottles of wine in our cabin to enjoy during our days at sea. Since we are flying in we won't be bringing any from home this time, we brought 6 bottles with us for a cruise this spring, we are trying to find out if there is a liquor store close to the port, preferably within walking distance, so we could check in and get on the ship and than make a shore excursion and pick up some wine and bring it back before the ship sails. The other option is paying for a taxi to get from the airport to the port and having him stop at a liquor store on the way to the port.

Any advice and suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks and have a great next cruise.

There is nothing within walking distance of the port. I suggest either stopping on your way, or checking in and then taking a cab back to the shopping area at the western base of the Vincent Thomas Bridge (not sure if it is technically Wilmington or San Pedro). I don't know if there is a

Trader Joe's close by... you could ask your taxi driver. I would go there if you have a car rather than just any liquor store. You can find locations here:http://www.traderjoes.com/

There is a Trader Joe's and a Costco about ten minutes south of LAX on the way to the ports.

The Trader Joe's is in Manhattan Beach on the corner Rosecrans Blvd and Aviation Blvd. http://www.traderjoes.com/locations/map/106.asp

The Costco is about two blocks east of TJ's in Hawthorne on the corner of Rosecrans Blvd and Hindry Ave. http://costco.com/Warehouse/LocationTemplate.aspx?Warehouse=671

Your taxi can either take Sepulveda Blvd south and turn left on Rosecrans or you can take the 405 Freeway, getting off on Rosecrans (west for TJ's, east for Costco). I think Sepulveda might be easier. Both stores will be on the right side of the street if you take the Sepulveda route.

Happy cruising!
