Ron Jon Resort In Cape Canaveral

I've never stayed there so can't answer most of your questions, but I have been there. It's very impressive with a beautiful pool complex. It's a timeshare facility so the rooms are rather luxurious and more like suites than hotel rooms.

The hotel is immediately beside the cruise port. This portion of the port is where the two casino ships dock so you can't walk to Carnival, Disney, Royal Caribbean, etc.....you'd still need a ride to get to the port section across the bridge where the cruise ships dock. But if you happen to have a room facing north you can watch the cruise ships sail out right in front of you, perhaps 100 yards or so in the distance.

We stayed there in September. Would highly recommend it! Request a room facing the port on the 3rd (highest) level! You will be able to watch ships come in and out of port all evening and night. It is fabulous!

They have a wonderful water park and pool area, plus a shuttle to the beach on their property.

There is no free breakfast. But our room had a full kitchen with coffee pot, toaster, etc. So we just brought things with us to cook.

Very close to pier. You will see your ship docked from your window in the morning if you are facing port. You will still need some way to get there though. It is too far to walk to the pier.

Helen , I've stayed there twice. The last time was in march. it is a wonderful resort and is VERY close to the port. There is no free food. Pool side is the place tobe unless you want to walk a lot. you cant really see much from the ocean front rooms anyway. The only complaint I had is that if You want your room changed FORGET IT. Both times we needed the room changed and didnt get any help whatsoever. The first time our friend was pool side and we were ocean side. All our kids didnt want to be seaprated and the walk inbetween is a longgg walk. it's dark at night and we didnt want them walking back and forth to be together. We just wanted all of us in the same building. The 2nd time we had requested to be poolside and got ocean side. My neice had a broken foot and the walk back and forth was a big deal. They did give us a wheelchair to use. The teenage boys had a blast with it! ha ha

thank you for all your answers, but after careful consideration, i might cancel the reservation and stay perhaps at the radisson or residence inn. the only think im not liking about Ron jon is the late check -in (after 4:00) and the early check-out (10:00am) dont want to be rushed. have enough of that when its time to disembark
