Anyone noticing the poor reviews of DESTINY. ALthough already booked , I'm considering R C "Adventurer of the Seas" sailing out same date of San Juan Jan 21,2007.

Anyone have experience with both ships?

Note: Destiny is $600 less, but this is vac. and I don't want to slum it and go away dissappointed.

we are sailing oct 15th...i have read all the reviews on the Destiny...

we sailed this ship when it was new and it has always been our favorite ship...

realizing it is older now, we are still planning on having a great time ...

remember, the saying goes, "if you eat at a good restaurant you might tell 5 people, but if you eat at a bad restaurant, you WILL tell 10"!! so i figure if previous cruise passengers had a great time they may not take the time to post that info, whereas, if they had a bad time (for whatever reason) they will surely post about it...

as for whether or not you should change ships, it is up to you...how picky are you about every little detail??? how old is the Adventure of the Seas??? it's not real new and is alot more $$... personally, when we sailed RCL, we were not impressed, but this is just our opinion...was it a bad cruise?? no, of course not, but we felt the food wasn't up to par with other lines...we didn't post a "bad review" about it though..just are choosing to cruise other lines...

i plan on going with the intention that i am not going to let little things bother me...i am on vacation and "things happen"...if you can go with that attitude, then i don't think you will be dissappointed...:)

We sailed the Destiny about a year and a half ago and we loved her. Good food, good service, lots of fun stuff to do and we even won in the casino! Plus, the itinerary is awesome. That said, this year we're doing the Southern Caribbean on the new NCL Pearl. It's a 9-day cruise that visits our favorite islands plus new ones we've never visited. And best of all, it leaves from Miami so we don't have the expense of flying into San Juan, although we really enjoyed our stay in Puerto Rico.

Dont' worry, you'll have a great time on the Desiny. Enjoy!

Congrats!!! You'll be one of the first to try out Destiny's new itinerary :) I haven't booked yet, but I fully intend to sail on my favorite ship again... The recent reviews I've read for the most part, center around the number of kids on board that cause ALOT of headaches. You're sailing in January, so it appears you're safe unless your week falls within a Holiday that Puerto Rico celebrates. There will always be kids on board, but I choose to travel in October mostly to avoid them as much as possible.

I'd say the 2 ships you're considering are close to the same age and could be prone to all the same problems, but if you want fun- stick with Carnival and go with a great vacation attitude!! :p
