Shuttle Launch

Looks like those of us who will be lucky enough to be at Port Canaveral on 09/08/06 will also get to see the shuttle launch at noon...How cool is that?

It was suppose to launch on the first day of our first cruise also (Aug 21, 2005). Bad news is that weather kept it grounded. It launched 2 days later I think. However with a good camera lense or binos you had a nice view of it sitting on the launch pad durring the sail away party.

Local news (Tampa, FL) is reporting that the launch will go off at 11:40AM, "no matter what". Seems if they don't get it off tomorrow they'll have to wait another month and they don't want to do that. My DH & I are excited about the possibiilty of seeing it "up close"...have only been able to view it from a distance so far...Tampa to Port Canaveral...

you can get update info from this site:http://www.floridatoday.com. It looks like it will leave for you tomorrow. They have been trying to get it of the pad since 8/27/06. I hope you get to see it, because it is awesome!
