Tabyana Beach Day

We have read that a taxi here would be $30 each way, so we figured why not just take the Carnival "excursion" for $33 pp. When I go to book, it gives hour time blocks. But you can stay for more than your hour, right? The buses take people at three different times, but you can come back whenever you want?

 

Is there a better option? We thought of doing Parrot Beach because it has limited people, but we've heard the beach is not as nice and has more bugs. We basically just want a day to relax on the beach. Carnival also offers Coral Cay, which I have not read much about.

I would think a taxi would cost less if you negotiated some. Once I had a taxi take me to West Bay and watch my stuff while I snorkeled for a couple of hours and then took me on a tour of West End and some other areas for $40 and I think I paid too much at that.

 

Last time, I just took the ship tour - it is too easy and you get to use the facilities at Tabyana including lounge chairs. Yes, you can stay as long as you like.

I was just in Roatan last month, we rented a driver for the day, it cost 25pp and they took us on a tour of the island, zip lining (cost extra), shopping and to a nice west end beach, the driver stayed with us the whole time and took us back to the ship when we were ready.
