Glacier Bay vs Sawyer Glacier

We were on a HAL cruisetour in August 2007 and were fortunate enough to get into Tracy Arm and saw both Sawyer Glaciers. We stayed so long, I was beginning to worry, couldn't wait to sail back out. I was fearful of the ice in the water. The Fjord is beautiful scenery as well. I kept praying the Captain knew what he was doing getting us in that far. But I'm here to write about it, so guess he did!;)

And it doesn't compare to the calving that takes place at Margerie and Pacific (?) Glaciers in Glacier Bay. Plus I think I counted 6 glaciers we saw. Seals at the entrance to Glacier Bay and the most serene wilderness.

You'll have a great time, no matter which you choose.

First of all I don't recall seeing the terminology "Sawyer Bay" on any itineraries. The itinerary says "Tracy Arm" normally.

The itineraries do usually say Tracy Arm, but I have noticed some referred to as Sawyer Glacier or Sawyer Glaciers. I think it is a marketing plan.
