Diet Drinks on Voyager

No I'm not a fanatical weight loser, but Chris is type 1 diabetic, so although wine and beer are allowed, spirits and drinks with sugar are strictly off limits. You'd be surprised how limited some selections of diet drinks are on ships, even though there are masses available in supermarkets. We are hoping that there will be a wider selection on RSSC than diet coke and water. Anyone remember??

They have both caffiene free diet coke and straight diet coke, as well as diet Pepsi and diet Sprite.

Why not have your TA put in a special request for your favorite diet drinks? I'm sure they can do that.

On Mariner's Mexican Riviera cruise a couple of years ago, Mark got diet Ginger Ale. On Voyager in the British Isles, they said they didn't have any on the ship (I saw an empty can in the casino, but have no idea where it came from; somebody may have brought it on). So, it may depend on the ship and its location.

My girlfriend gets Tab in her suite (has our TA order it before she boards and it's there waiting for her).

I've asked for diet tonic in the past, although not on Voyager. I'm sure if you get your TA to put in a request for you, you can get what you like.

I've had them run out of caffiene free diet Coke, but they've always replenished in the next port. RSSC is very good about meeting your requests if they possibly can.

Thanks for the info. Just one more query. Is the in-bar set up restricted to wine and spirits? Could you order, say, a bottle of Martini, instead of spirits? It seems unfair that I get a whole litre of spirits to myself and he gets diet coke and a bottle of wine.

If you mean a bottle of vermouth, I don't see why not. Or a six pack of beer. Or sherry maybe. I haven't tried, just speculating (except the beer part, my husband has done that.)

Wonder if you could order Vermouth etc.

 

A lot of times we would order a Diet Coke and receive a COKE LITE.

Seems to be the same product just where it was produced and where the ship restocked.
