barefootscribe Posted October 2, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 2, 2006 Hi all! My poor TA is stranded without computer access so I need to shamelessly search your collective brains. My two-year-old is coming with us on our next cruise. She has a birth certificate and SSN card, but no other form of ID, certainly none with a photo. What does RCCL require to let an infant aboard? Thanks so much for your help!
Cruise-Nut Posted October 2, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 2, 2006 Birth Cert is all you will need. My kids were older than that when they started to cruise prior to getting Passports and that is all they needed. Have fun.

Thanks so much for your help! You're good to go~ no child under 16 needs a picture ID. The birth certificate is all children need right now (unless only traveling with one parent) & then passports for everyone in 2007.
wrp96 Posted October 2, 2006 #4 Share Posted October 2, 2006 When is your cruise? If it ends before January 8, 2007, then you are fine with just a certified copy of the birth certificate for your child.
signman Posted October 2, 2006 #5 Share Posted October 2, 2006 And if you will be returning to the USA via air or sea after 1/8/07 then You and your 2 year old will need a passport. Here's a timely article from today's New York Times. You may have to register. http://www.nytimes.com/2006/10/01/travel/01prac.html?_r=1&ref=travel&oref=slogin
Merion_Mom Posted October 2, 2006 #6 Share Posted October 2, 2006 She's cruising in two weeks; no passport needed. Genuine birth certificate with the raised seal is all you need.

Nurse Daybreak Posted October 9, 2006 #8 Share Posted October 9, 2006 Take plenty of pictures especially at the muster with her baby size life vest on. Just remember to keep all the whistles out of her mouth. [
