I think 30 minutes is reasonable. There are many people who want to go for a hot dog or hamburger and perhaps stop at the rest room on their way -- and that can take almost 30 minutes if there are lines.

 

On the Sea Princess, the aft deck is open, public deck with loungers in the sun and shade. On our cruise last summer, two ladies reserved loungers in both the sun and the shade for themselves, moving back and forth during the afternoon. There were plenty of loungers so I didn't say anything but I thought that was pretty nervy.
