Just booked the Elation 12/14, travel recommendations please

I just booked a cruise! The 12/14 sailing of the Elation. I am going to be in Orlando for a seminar that ends on the 13th, so I couldn't pass up the timing for taking a short cruise.

 

This is where I need recommendations....as I said, the conference ends on the 13th and the ship sails on the 14th. Would those of you who have been to Port Canaveral lately recommend that I stay the night of the 13th in Orlando and then go to the port on the morning of the 14th or go to Port canaveral on the 13th and spend the night there to be ready for the cruise. I haven't been to PC in several years so I don't know what is close around there for accommodations.

 

Since I won't be at the airport in Orlando right before my cruise, I don't think the transfers are an option for me....so what is the best mode of transportation from Orlando to Port Canaveral?

Idea for Accomodations- We sailed from Port C. last year and will sail from Port C. on the Elation in the Spring.

 

We stayed at the Radisson Resort at the Port and liked it and are staying there again before our next cruise.

How are you getting from the airport to the Port?

Check out Radison Resort at the Port. I will be staying there Thanksgiving and it looks real sweet.... price is pretty good too!
