GldnRm01 Posted November 26, 2006 #1 Share Posted November 26, 2006 We are excited about cruising on the Jewel next month, however, we have always done our cruisng during the summer before hurricane season kicks in. We have been fortunate to have never gone thru high seas, bad weather, etc. We are a little concerned about what to expect in December (Eastern Carribean- St. Thomas, St. Martin, Antigua) Are there high seas typically during December (we can get sea sick)? Are the beaches to cold to swim in at this time of year - we're from the south and like warm water. Any info would be appreaciated about the weather, ports, and ship would be appreciated! I am not experienced with the eastern cruise yet, maybe next year, but we have gone on the western cruise in Dec. several times as you see in my post. Weather is in 8O's water is warm, we have never had a problem, just would come up rain for short time, but that is typical. Have a great cruise. Hope this helps. GMoney Posted November 26, 2006 #3 Share Posted November 26, 2006 December is a great month to cruise. I have to say though it always amazes me how people book cruises, and THEN ask how things will be when they get there...
geojobes Posted November 26, 2006 #4 Share Posted November 26, 2006 I lived in Puerto Rico for 4 years in the 70's. December the weather is warm in the daytime (mid to high 80's). It gets to high 60's to mid 70's at night. Water temperature is nice all year round. Swimming is not a problem, it is warm, but not bathwater warm. Have fun on your cruise. caribsun Posted November 26, 2006 #5 Share Posted November 26, 2006 We sailed the 1st week of December to the eastern caribbean and the daytime highs were in the low 80's and the water was warm enough to swim in. The day that we left Miami it was cloudy and temps in the low 70's for the sailaway. The pool water on the ship was cool in the am, but warmed up nicely in the afternoon from the caribbean sun. The ship was decorated for the Christmas season also.
