sea-u-later Posted December 6, 2006 #1 Share Posted December 6, 2006 This will be our first cruise on NCL. Our past trips have all been on Carnival. If I was to lose my card {like Carnivals sea and sail} could somebody use it to buy drinks, or worse, get chips in the casino? Where do most people carry their cards? Guest BeckyThane Posted December 6, 2006 #2 Share Posted December 6, 2006 If you lose your room card -- also used for all onboard purchases -- immediately go to the front desk. They will deactivate it and issue you a new one. Others on this board have said that the other keys to your room will also be deactivated, so you might want to take them with you in case this is true. garycarla Posted December 6, 2006 #3 Share Posted December 6, 2006 I suppose they could, but have NEVER heard about it in all the time on these boards. Not really a concern. If somehow you did, just check with the Pursars office asap.
MizDaisy Posted December 6, 2006 #4 Share Posted December 6, 2006 When you use your card for onboard charges/purchases, you have to tell them your room number. So if someone found your card, they'd have to know your room number in order to use it. Excellent advice above!
palmtre2 Posted December 6, 2006 #5 Share Posted December 6, 2006 Most would turn the card in to the purser's deck, not use it. We cruise at the Easter break and we must have found 5 kids lost cards on an 8 day cruise. Our kids lost theirs and they turned up at the purser's desk. On 2 separate NCL cruises my roomie has lost their cards, and all of us in the cabin had to turn in our cards and were issued new ones. No biggie, it happens all the time. You can get one of those pouches with a lanyard for around your neck if you want to have "ready access to it" I just carry a front pocket wallet with the card in it.
