Shadow to the Baltic?

We've been interested in booking a cruise to the Baltic for some time. Have narrowed it down to SS Shadow or RSSC Voyager. Any advice from past cruisers? We sailed SS once previously on Whisper and loved it, so we're a little prejudice. Any advice on ports or excursions? We welcome the input.

Whichever ship you choose be sure and hire a private car and guide for St. Petersburg, either through Red October or Denrus. You'll probably be there for three days and you can design your own tours and do them at leisure. it will probably also cost less than doing a variety of tours through SS or Regent.

Right on target!....Been there twice and used Red October in July,2005...There were three of us and we were very well taken care of by a knowlegable guide. Even the lunches were superb!....You can tailor your own tour and they handle the daily visa.
