Sales tax

I hope that this isn't an old question. I did a search and got a jillion matches, so must go ahead and ask.

 

I assume that sales tax is charged for the cost of a cruise. That being the case, if one books thru a travel agent in a state with no sales tax, such as Oregon, is the sales tax avoided? (that will be assuming that the cruise does not begin in that state)...

From looking at our fees- We were charged a base fee for the cruise, a federal tax fee and port charges.
