can you tell me a little about him/her? i asked about this on CD thread, but no responses when i last checked.

His name is "Goose" Neumann. He said he was Canadian. He was an excellent host and very funny. He kept the entertainment moving, such as the Newlywed Game. We were literally laughing out loud. He was really friendly and seemed to everywhere on board ship. He is quite lively without giving off that over-the-top-hyper persona. He was, by far, the funniest CD we have come across (but I've only been on 6 cruises). Is there something specific you would like an opinion on?

can you tell me where these are located?

Anyway, my kids will live in the in-the-water playground, so i know i'll need to be over there to watch them. if cabanas are out of sight, i won't even bother trying to book one in advance, even though they sound so awesome. it just wldn't pay if i couldn't hang out in it and enjoy it.

As you pull into the tender area, the water park is directly to your left. If you walk along the beach to the right (looking at the ocean) you will pass the little chapel, then the bar, then the massage cabana. Beyond that is the taupe/tan cabana. It is the closest to the Aqua Park, but the sidewalk ends right at its porch. There were people walking across the edge of the porch pretty consistently. After the tan is the Blue cabana (not to be confused with the light/sky blue cabana). The turquois and orange cabanas are closest to the restrooms and the food pavilion. After that is sky blue, peach, purple, pink, green, yellow and terra cotta (which is the most private). You can see the aqua park from the cabanas and it is an easy walk from the orange and closer, but not close enough to supervise kids at play. Although we didn't bring our kids on this trip, from what we could see there were two small slides, one has a splash at the end (looked like toddlers were using it) and one goes into the ocean. There were some large foam floats anchored in the water and a few kids were climbing on those. Most of the kids we saw were playing in the gentle surf or in the very soft sand.

19Snapshot - very nice review - do u have any pictures, especially of the cabana?

Thank you for the review, we will be sailing her Jan 29th. Glad you had a great time, we was on the Inspiration Nov 06, noticed the food wasnt like it has been in the past. That didn't stop us from having a goodtime.

My question is did they have a theme night? I know they have had them on other ships. Also do you know who the Casino Host name?

Thanks again for the review and taking the time to answer our questions.:D

I am sorry, but I am not much of a gambler and didn't catch the name of the casino host. The theme night was mexican and I believe it was Monday night on the Saturday through Thursday itinerary. There was music and a mexican buffet on the Lido deck. I am glad to answer your questions. I hope it is helpful.

Did you book the cabana at the shore excursions desk? Leaving tomorrow!

Absolutely, booked it at the shore excursion desk as soon as we got on board. Don't be discouraged when you don't see it listed, just walk right up and ask. I had read on other boards that the turquois one had the best location. We requested that one and got it. I would agee that it is most convenient to public area and has some shade (not all do). Looking forward to hearing how you enjoyed it when you return. Have fun!

Hi 19snapshot:

Our cabin will be at the Empress deck, can you tell me is the Photo Gallery still located at midship in the corridor between the two rows of interior cabins? I forgot where I heard it from, that now this area is used as the Art Gallery, and they have moved the Photo Gallery up to the Atrium Plaza area, is that right?

Thanks.

Ellie

You are right. The art gallery is located in the innermost corridor on the Empress deck and was a quiet area on our cruise. The photo gallery which is much more busy, is in the atrium area.

Hello, I was wondering for those who were on the Empress deck, is it very noise? my room is the E101, we're going 2/26/07. Any info about it? Thank you also for all the information about the cabanas we're renting one for sure!

There are no blank spots on the floor plan around you, meaning there is no service door for staff to slam at night. Other than that, it was pretty quiet. I don't think you will have a problem, but I think I will bring those squishy ear plugs on all future cruises after my experiences on this cruise.

Thank you for the review, my husband and I are also from Chicago and we will be going the elation on feb 12th, we are still debating the cabana on half moon cay since it is pretty costly .....It would be great if we could go in half and half with another couple.

We are also sailing on Elation 2/12/07 and wishing for a cabana on HMC, but the cost is worrying us.( My husband is afraid it will put too big a dent in his casino allowance! :p ) Going in half with another couple is a great idea! Anyone interested e-mail Sharon at dziorns@dominos.com. We are 50 and 51, relaxed and easy going beach lovers, and really looking forward to this cruise for that reason!

One of the best CD's we have had out of 13 cruises. His assistants/ hosts/hostesses on our Nov. cruise were also great and that is a reflection of a good CD.

Like other CCL cruises does the Elation also have "Teams"? Last trip on the Glory we ended up on the red team and neither of us had anything red to wear for the deck party. We noticed several of the white team members cheated and wore their robe to the party. Anyway I want to make sure we have the correct colors packed this time. ;-)

Yes, there were teams, but there were only reds and blues. Sadly, we were red and we lost by a small margin. The odd tables in the dining room were red and the evens were blue. Hopefully, you will find yourself on the winning team!

Cool!! Thanks! Yep we have been on the winning teams, first blue last red, And we have the picture of each ship to show for it. :) We had our waitstaff sign them. hmmm I think they are in the closet somewhere.:D I will make sure to find something red (shouldn't be hard since Valentine's day coming up) as I always have something blue.
