JC Cruiser Posted January 19, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 19, 2007 Hello All! We are considering taking a Bermuda cruise out of Philadelphia and are trying to determine if we should fly or drive from Cleveland. One question that I am have trouble finding the answer to is the cost of parking a car at the port in Philadelpia. Does anyone know the answer? Thanks for your help!!! JC Cruiser Posted January 22, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted January 22, 2007 Thanks for the great website! Fantastic info! Has anyone ever parked at the port before? Is it smooth or chaotic? Are there any hotels that allow you to park there if you stay for a couple nights, either before or after? Thanks again!!!
bermudashorts Posted January 24, 2007 #4 Share Posted January 24, 2007 It was easy parking at the port. Make sure you get there early, as the traffic line picks up and then it is a mess. We were on the ship about 11am. Didn't stay at a hotel, but Im sure there are some that will allow you park and then shuttle you.
Chrislynn55 Posted January 26, 2007 #5 Share Posted January 26, 2007 We drove from Toronto to Philadelphia a couple of summers ago. We usually drive to most of our cruises and this port was one of the easiest to find. There was plenty of parking and it was inexpensive compared to many other ports. I agree that you should get there early. We arrived at 11am to find a line of only 20 or so cars in front of us. You unload your luggage (porters will help you and take your suitcases) and then you just park your car in the lot (it's right there). Leaving after the cruise was very easy too. We used mapquest directions and they worked perfectly. One thing you should think about is going a couple of days early to explore and enjoy Philadelphia. We did this...had no idea that Philadelphia was such a cool, unique, and interesting city. The prison tour was a very different kind of thing to do! This cruise really stands out in our memory, not just because of the ship but because of the city itself. We would love to cruise out of Philadelphia again. Our next cruise is out of New York in March.....staying in Jersey City the day before and not looking forward to driving in New York at all!
