lwislandgirl Posted January 24, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 24, 2007 I will be cruising on the POA soon and would like to know if there is any formal nights in the dining rooms like other cruise ships or is it always casual? Thank you in advance
cobo Posted January 24, 2007 #2 Share Posted January 24, 2007 Yes there is a formal night. I believe it was Tuesday. However it was not required. I went casual as did many others. In Hawaii I did not plan anything too formal.
Don Haynes Posted January 24, 2007 #3 Share Posted January 24, 2007 NCL does not have formal nights, and they have even done away with optional formal nights. But no one is keeping you from dressing up to the nines on any night. How much freerer can it get, you choose your formal night.

Hawaii is much more relaxed than other cruises.
electricron Posted January 24, 2007 #5 Share Posted January 24, 2007 On a 7 Day Cruise there will be 2 "Optional Dress Up Nights", this will be printed in the "Freestyle Daily". Hawaii is much more relaxed than other cruises. I have never seen two optional formal nights on 7 day cruises aboard NCL ships, and I've sailed with NCL many times. There has only been one. And soon, if not already fleet wide, there will not be any.

shirlmac Posted January 25, 2007 #8 Share Posted January 25, 2007 I know this really does not apply here, but I do not want to start a whole new thread for one question. Is there a self service laundry on POA, if so, where is it? Thanks so much for all your help
Don Haynes Posted January 25, 2007 #9 Share Posted January 25, 2007 Only NCL's new ships have self serve laundrymats. Those with are Dawn, Jewel, Pride of Hawaii, and Pearl. Those without are Star, Sun, Spirit, Pride of America, Pride of Aloha, Dream, Majesty, Crown, and Wind. However, NCL does have a laundry service.
