isujim Posted January 26, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 26, 2007 After 16 cruises we are going to try Princess again on the Diamond Princess.........as soon as fall 2008 itineraries are released....... Any real difference between the mini suite classifications other than location? Anyone have a preference and why? Thanks in advance Jim
cherylandtk Posted January 26, 2007 #2 Share Posted January 26, 2007 The only other differences (other than location) of note are the two furthest aft rooms, but still on the sides, usually have a larger wrap balcony. And the dozen minis on the Emerald deck have covered balconies. See this post for a good picture of that area on the Star: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showpost.php?p=8916916&postcount=3 As to location, it depends on whether you have motion sensitivity or would prefer to be closer to the food or the spa or an elebator or stairs or laundry or something else. cherylandtk Posted January 26, 2007 #4 Share Posted January 26, 2007 They can be, just ask your cabin steward. Its just a single narrow door; the entire panel is not removed.
lthomas Posted January 27, 2007 #5 Share Posted January 27, 2007 E728 and E731 on Emerald Deck have the large balconies and they are covered. Not sure where you are sailing to but these seem to be very coveted to Alaska.............They are not next door but across from each other. One of you could get the large and just open up the one next door. They are aft.

Had these on the Caribbean Princess and the aft cabin had a horrible vibration (for whatever reason)......also that was what we call the "rain cruise".......rained 5 of 7 days........all the water apparently dumped towards the end of the ship and we had water pouring on the balcony even though it was covered........6 inches deep........couldn't even open the door........... This time I think we will just go with an AA, AB or AC, knowing it isn't covered. Thanks everyone
