Amsterdam, 9:20 flight?

Recommended Posts

Sorry to ask the question that has probably been asked a million times. Departing Century (says we port at 5:00am), can we make a 9:20am flight on a Sat. morning. Last year we had a flight that left at 1:30 and had way too much time. Thanks in advance for all help!

Rather difficult to say, it is very short.

Not only will it depend how much time customs in port need to clear the ship, but also where you are flying to.

Airlines want passengers within Europe to be at least 1,5/2 hrs. ,to USA 2,5/3 hrs. before departure because of security etc.

Traffic on Saturday in general is o.k., driving time from the cruiseterminal to the airport can be done in 20/25 minutes.

To be sure, I would take a later flight. Schiphol is a nice airport with lots of taxfreeshops, even a casino and a small Rijksmuseum.

Well, CO has no 1:30 flights out of AMS on Sats.

I donot know their schedules for this summer, but they used to have flights to New York as well as Houston.

Otherwise you might opt for the early flight. Best advise is to carry all your luggage with you when disembarking and be off the ship as one of the first.

Maybe you can do your checkin online on board the night before and have a quick checkin with dropping of the luggage.

That way it might work.

Or stay 1 more night in Amsterdam....

I'm looking into flights from Schiphol to LAX on 8/11 (a Saturday). The ship gets in at 8AM. The latest flight available without paying a lot more leaves at 12:20PM. Would that be cutting it too close? I could stay overnight and take an early flight the next day but would prefer not to.

If you can be off the ship as one of the first, yes it must be possible, be it close.

As I mentioned before it will help if you can do your checkin on-line on board and have boardingpasses before getting to the airport. Then you just have to drop your luggage, that saves time.

On saturdaymorning traffic will not be a problem. Better to take a cab and not a shuttlebus, also to save time.
