RCCL "Ghosts & Goodtime Girls Historical Walking Tour"

Has anyone done this? It's $39 for a guided walking tour of Skagway and a trip to the Red Onion, complete with an 'upstairs' tour and a champagne toast. If you've done it, is it worth it? Or can we get this all on our own, just not with a tour guide? Thanks!

The National Park Service historic walking tour is free, and if you walk over to the Red Onion (across the street from the NPS), the upstairs tour is, I believe, still only $5. (the photo at http://www.explorenorth.com/ shows you what the Red Onion looked like 2 weeks ago)

Yep, I agree with Murray, just show up at the red onion and get their "upstairs" tour. :) The park service walking tours are unique to the ranger giving them. All promote their expertise with excellent tours. So if you have down time, consider them, even two if you can get different rangers. They now have limits on their tour numbers so you have to sign up in advance. http://www.nps.gov/klgo/planyourvisit/guidedtours.htm
