Ive been watching the weather down in New Orleans for the last month and it seems like theres only cold and rainy days. Is this the season for gloomy weather? We are visiting in two weeks for Mardi Gras and wonder what we should bring for coats. The temps seem to be around fifty in the days and fortys at night. Has this been the norm?

This is a typical El Nino winter in New Orleans: cold and wet. Don't forget the umbrella.

Yup! I was there 1/19 and 1/27 and it was cold and wet. Hoping the best for you.

How will this effect Mardi Gras? Do the parades still go on with the rain?

The parades will roll if its a light drizzle. They will cancel if there is a heavy down pour or if there is lightening. Hopefully it will be clearing soon. We are ready for Mardi Gras
