Marriott Stellaris Hotel & Casino

We will be staying at the Marriott Stellaris pre-cruise next month. I had enough Marriott points for a free stay. :p Can anyone tell me who has stayed there:

 

1/What time is check-in?

2/Are there taxis available outside the hotel to go to Old San Juan and the pier?

3/How much is the fare for both?

4/How did you like the rooms and facilities?

5/Did the construction bother you in any way?

Have been here 2 times previous and again in April. We usually arrive by 2 pm and are able to check in. Plenty of cabs or as you walk out front door, bellman will get one for you. 1 way fare for 2 was around $10 to Old San Juan. There are lots of cabs there to return to hotel. It was not under construction when we were there but I have recently posted a question regarding this. Rooms are great, private balconies. Beach and pools are beautiful too. Casino is closed though on Good Friday as are most shops and restaurants around the hotel. Hotel restaurants remain open.

Thanks for the info Melody. I see that we will both be staying at the hotel the same night. I'll be with my daughter and we're planning on going into Old San Juan to shop and walk around. If you are interested in going into OSJ, maybe we could meet and share a taxi. Let me know. If not, have a wonderful cruise and stay in SJU. Anne

We and our 2 friends will be there that Friday night, also! We stayed right across the street at El Canario by the Sea last time, and loved looking over at the Marriott! Such beautiful pools! We won this hotel on Priceline, and are looking forward to being there.

 

We are flying in on Delta out of Atlanta. Are you on that flight, too?

Hi Michelle, we are actually flying early Saturday morning (7 April) and will be in by noontime. We're flying out of Philly on American. Maybe we could all get together on Saturday to go shopping or for dinner? Are you all still going to be there on Saturday or does your cruise leave on Saturday? Anne

Sorry we won't be able to meet as we need to check onto the ship, and then we are taking our friends sight-seeing.
