Grumpy1 Posted March 11, 2007 #4 Share Posted March 11, 2007 Noordam spent her innaugural summer in the Mediterannean. Westerdam was in Alaska. This year, Westerdam goes to the Mediterannean and noordam goes to Alaske. We were on Noordam, 10 day Eastern Mediterannean last August and are booked on Westerdam, 10 day Western Mediterannean this year. One reason for the switch is that Westerdam will be in drydock at an Italian shipyard in late April/early May, so it make sense to have her stay in that area. Noordam was launched in Italy, came to the states and then went back to the Mediterannean. Perhaps the thought was that if there were problems during the initial season, the ship would be close to "home"
