Hotel Recommendations

We're booking on a November cruise and will be flying into MIA. We're going to do some pre-cruise self made excursions for a couple days and will be renting a car. We thought we could possibly save some cash by booking somewhere between Miami and Port Everglades. We thought maybe the rates might be lower - supply and demand thing, you know. The morning of embarkation we'd do the dropoff thing with the car at the dock. Anyone have any suggestions?

This is a suggestion. Go to the North America Homeports and sxroll to East coast departures. There is a wealth of information about hotels, etc.
