on the eve of a total smoking ban in Wales,I am curious to know if there is (or likely to be) a ban on smoking on cruise ships.

Hi There,

 

When raised in paliment it was made clear that they wanted ships included,

 

however non Uk flagged ships are awaiting a clear ruling, P & O have stated they expect it to have an effect on them since they are operating out of England. But do not say what will happen.

This has been discussed on Cunard board, ending with the posting of a link to a bill a MP is trying to bring in specificially for cruise ships - here is the link to the thread (as all smoking threads, I am sure it gets a bit 'nasty' at times - ignore those bits:D )

It seems any legislation is only operating in UK waters though, so probably not worth worrying about either way:)
