Pride of America - August '07

I am the travel director for a private travel club of senior citizens who take 3 to 4 trips per year. I am not an agent. This is my hobby.

 

We have 2 travel members who need to depart the cruise while we are docked in Kauai (August 30) and fly to Honolulu to attend their son's wedding. They will rejoin us when we dock in Honolulu on Sept 1.

 

Quesitons:

Is this even possible for them to do?

How far is the airport in Kauai from the pier?

Taxi service available? Estimated cost?

Interisland airline names?

Check out the Hawaii port of call area. There are locals who frequently post there and I'm sure can help you out.

We are on the PoAm in September 07. We wanted to get off the ship at the last port before returning back to Honolulu the next morning to save an inter-island flight as we are spending a week on Maui after the cruise. Our TA called NCL and they said we could not do that, we had to disembark in Honolulu.

 

After reading the thread about missing the ship, I was tempted to just get off the ship and let it sail without us, but we would look pretty suspicious getting off the last day with all our luggage! :p

Really? They can actually kidnap you? Or is it a hostage situation where you need to pay a fee to be allowed to leave? I just don't see how they could stop you from leaving the ship if you wanted to.
