lovetheocean21 Posted April 12, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 12, 2007 We are leaving on the EOS for 5 nights to western carib on 4/29 My friend just said he only has picture driver license and expired (recent) passport and said he won't have a problem - I feel nervous that I will be stuck sailing alone ( i have a current passport) we are both diamond members if that helps us. Do you guys think he is okay because he is not worried and said he will be find. Thanks for your help
mediator Posted April 12, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 12, 2007 For the moment, they are accepting drivers license, with birth certificate. Look at RCL website to confirm that. We did sail pre 911 with expired passports and were allowed to board. I did bring birth certificates as a back-up. Better safe than sorry.
Sue L Posted April 12, 2007 #3 Share Posted April 12, 2007 Is he bringing his birth certificate at least? Make sure it is a certified copy from the state not the hospital one.
FitzLA Posted April 12, 2007 #4 Share Posted April 12, 2007 I had a friend who did not have a current passport on our last cruise, and he was told that they did not accept expired passports anymore. He had to use his DL and birth certificate.
cb at sea Posted April 13, 2007 #5 Share Posted April 13, 2007 They won't accept ANYHTHING that is expired! He'll be fine with a driver's license and birth certificate until the end of the year. But, he will have to have the birth certificate!
