Nightlife--Alaskan Cruises

We're planning our first Alaskan cruise for next summer. What is the nightlife usually like? We are considering either Princess or Royal Caribbean. Does anyone have any experience from Princess (Golden, Sun, or Dawn) or Royal Caribbean Serenade of the Seas?

The nightlife is rather quiet on most Alaskan cruises, where ships often dock early in the morning and people are up at 6 or 7am to get off and start shore excursions. I don't think the boat makes much of a difference.

We were on the Sapphire Princess Alaskan cruise 2 years ago. There were shows every evening in the main theater, but our favorite activity each evening was the Princess Idol. We had many fabulous singers on our ship. Our ship was pretty quiet by midnight though. That was just fine with us.
