Grr, debarkation day -- ship excursions not helpful

Anyone have any great ideas for something to do in the Honolulu area from approx. 8 am until 1 pm on debarkation day (Monday, July 16 in our case, which rules out Iolani Palace (closed on Monday))? NCL has cancelled (or the vendor has) everything we thought looked good -- we will already have done Pearl Harbor and the North Shore. I know failing all else we rent a car (full day rate for four hours, basically, ow) and cruise around -- but if someone has a great alternate, we'd be interested!

If you are in the downtown area, you disembark at Aloha Tower which has shops and a "ship" museum. You are near downtown where you can visit the State Capitol building, the Honolulu Hale (City Hall), Kawaiahao Church, Mission Homes Museum, and the Kamehameha Statue. Near downtown is also the Ala Moana Shopping Center and the Children's Museum (Kakaako). You could also consider the Bishop Museum (you might need a car) and Waikiki.
