SENSATION will be going into dry-dock?

I understand the SENSATION will be going into dry-dock for a face lift. Does anyone know when and how long this will take? Where will it be going after it gets back? I LOVE the SENSATION and I'm ready to go!

I am not sure when either. I do remember a time ago that someone had posted something about a dry dock calander. If anyone has that website, can you please post it again? Thanks!

I've heard rumors of Sensation coming to Mobile in November. It would need to be dry docked prior to that as it would need the propulsion problems repaired. As luck would have it Atlantic Marine in Mobile is where Sensation dry docked in March 2006 before moving to Florida. How convenient and timely would that be if the rumors turn out to be true? :)

Do you know, does it take days, weeks, months, or a year to uplift and repair the ship?

Usually 2-5 weeks depending on the extent of the work to be done. Dry docks are mainly to service and inspect the hull that is normally under water. Any work above the water line and interior cosmetics can be done even if the ship is in the water so it doesn't need a dry dock for that kind of work. Even if the ship is out of service for a month it may only spend a week of that time actually out of the water.

That would be wonderful for me! I loved the Fantasy Class and already have one on the Holiday that would transfer over.

Wether or not you are offered a replacement or just given your money back depends on if the Sensation is replaced by a different ship or not.

I thought Sensation already got the new look? When I first booked a group cruise for this August, that was the one thing everyone was talking about that it got a new renovation that caused lots of problems. :confused:

• 2002 - no date scheduled

• 2003 – dry dock: 11/29/03-12/17/03

• 2005 – dry dock: 10/17/05-10/31/05

• 2006 – dry dock: 3/04/06-3/22/06

• 2007 – no date scheduled

Renovations completed by 3/22/06:

• New nine-hole miniature golf course on Sun Deck.

• New Teen Club (Club O2) on Promenade Deck.

• 1600 square foot Children’s World play area located on Verandah Deck

• The aft lounge was reconfigured to house a new family recreation area featuring new audio/visual equipment for displaying movies and other programming.

• New art gallery on Empress Deck.

• New 1200 square foot conference room.

• New Patisserie offering specialty coffees and sweets on the Promenade Deck.

• New photo gallery on the Promenade Deck.

• Redesigned Internet Café will be located adjacent to the Purser’s/Information Desk on Empress Deck.

• Updated look and feel of the public lounges: new carpeting; enhanced sound system in the show rooms; new chairs in the Dining Rooms.

• The 12000 square foot Spa Carnival facility was renovated with new private treatment rooms, updated exercise equipment and a host of cosmetic enhancements.

• The Spirals Teen Disco was constructed where the forward Promenade Deck Video Arcade was situated.

• New carpet in the casino and lobby landings throughout the ship.

• 3 massage rooms were built in the locker room area of the spa.

• 2 ladies changing rooms were added in the spa.

• New bedspreads and curtains were placed in all cabins.

• New chairs on the promenade deck.

• The video game room was expanded.

• New chairs in the Lido Restaurant.
