Questions about AB vs. OS Suites on Wind

We are a group of 4 adult women planning on going on the Wind. We can book 2 CCs (2 to a cabin) for about the same price as 1 AB (4 to a cabin). For a few hundred more pp we can book an OS (4 to a cabin). We're really thinking hard about a suite, but are concerned about how crowded we might be. Here are my questions:

1. Cabin sizes: Am I correct that cat. AB (384 sq ft) would give us more room size than the OS (336 sq ft) even though the OS also has a balcony?

2. 4th person: Looks like the OS has a "bed" in the walk-in closet. Is it large enough for an adult? Is there room in the AB and the OS to have a roll-away bed?

3. Roll away bed: Is the bed left in the living room all day, or does the room steward bring it in at night and roll it out the next morning?

4. Ocean view: Cat. AB have a deck between the cabin and the railing. Is the railing solid so you can't see the ocean or is the railing clear? It looks like the OS has picture windows looking right down on the ocean with the balcony to the side, right?

5. Floorplan: I haven't been able to find a "floorplan" for Cat. AB. Is it basically the same as the OS? Anyone know a site with the AB floorplan?

6. Bathroom: Are the bathrooms the same size/layout? Obviously with 4 women sharing the bathroom, we'll need the largest we can get.

I know these are a lot of questions, but I'll appreciate any comments on any of the questions.

Thanks, Linda

Hi,

We are just back from our 7/31 trip on the Wind, and we stayed in a category AB suite,

There were four of us, and we were happy with the amount of space that the room provided. The couch was a convertible pull out couch that opened up into two single beds, the main beds can be split into singles, and the sleeping area between the beds is divided by a curtain. The sofa bed was put away during the day and made up at night, leaving ample room to move around the cabin. There was plenty of closet space, and all luggage fit neatly under the beds. The only issue is that there is only one bathroom, albeit a large one with a tub, vanity space in the actual bathroom may be limited for four adult women, you may however use the mirror in the living area take along a cheap 6-way plug because there is only one outlet in that area. There are some perks to being in this room, like a Butler, Concierge, and over all VIP treatment. We were escorted through embarkation with our concierge, and were whisked right to our room with a personal guide. There was champagne on ice, and canapés waiting for us. It continued like that for the whole trip, goodies were delivered on an almost daily basis.

As for the deck outside it is a solid steel rail (you can not see through it) looking out the window was sufficient on most cases to see the islands, however we were at the front of the ship, deck 10. I did not see any of the Owner suites, but if you have any more questions about the AB, just ask.

There will be even more perks for AA or OS passengers. I was in AA last fall on the wind and think four would do fine. I would not suggest the bed in the closet for an adult. The balcony and proximity to the pool are also pluses for the AA.

Do I read this right? I don't think I've ever heard of a pull out couch that opens into 2 single beds! If so, it sounds perfect! 2 single main beds and 2 single "couch" beds!

I have not been able to find a floorplan for cat. AB. Is it basically the same as the Owner's Suite only without the balcony? Is the bathroom only accessible through the bedroom? Is there a big window in both the bedroom and the sitting area?

Do you have any pictures you could post or email to me: lindac777@bctonline.com.

Thanks.

Candydane,

I and my family have been in both the AA and AB suites

on this ship. The floor plan of the AB is basically one big room with a curtained off bedroom. The living area is much

larger then AA but thats about the only advantage. The

windows on AB are standard size windows not the floor

to ceiling windows of the CC cabins. This might be good

because there is a walking deck (though not heavly used)

just outside. The bathroom is in the hallway just as you walk in. Its accesible to everyone.

The AA suites are much more luxurios and have a great location near the pools. Very little noise. They have a seperate bedroom with balcony which is shared with the

living room. There bathroom is accessed thru the living room hallway or the bedroom. They have two doors.

I have some pictures of our AB suite I'll try to find them and post them.

Thanks for the comparative information! Sounds like the AA could be worth the difference in price from the AB.

Do you remember if the AA/AB bathrooms are about the same size? That will be the biggest downside for all 4 of us sharing an AA or AB suite compared to our staying in 2 connecting CC cabins.
