We have been to this port before and have done several tours.

So we are looking at a new tour being offered. It is called The Tropical Mangrove River Cruise.

Has anyone done this tour?

If so - what did you think of it? How were the boats?

The boats look similar (maybe smaller) to the ones we used in Puerto Limon when we did the Toruguero Canal.

Looks like the website came from someone in costa rica, possibly the company itself. I would like to hear from someone who has used this greenway tours. Is their service good? Are they reputable?

We weren't thinking of using greenway tours. We will be booking the Mango Flaot trip through HAL - so don't know what company they use.

I, too, noticed that the same person had poted on a couple of threads.

We've never been to Puntarenas...what do you recommend for a first time visitor? Saw the Skywalk In the Forest on the RCCL website, what's that like?

Don't know anything about the Sky walk.

The last time we were there we went on an all day Eco walk. The tour guide we got was also a forest ranger. He took us off the regular path. We climbed over HUGE fallen trees through a jungle. A couple of short women had to be pushed up and over the fallen trees. We did see a lot of wildlife that others didn't see. The original group of us was about 100 and they broke us down into groups of about 16 or so. After about 3 hours, we ate lunch along the edge of a stream - bad storms had just gone through about 2 weeks before we were there, so a lot of erosion along the banks had taken place. After we rested from our lunch, then we took us by van to other places where we saw a lot more wild life.
