rachel0 Posted June 26, 2007 #1 Share Posted June 26, 2007 Has anyone had experience with some ship excursions that would be toddler friendly in the following ports: Aruba Bonaire (Klein Bonaire or historic Dutch ship sail excursion?) Grenada St. Thomas (Coral World?) St. Kitts We'll be sailing in Nov. We're a little skittish about doing anything on our own since this is our first cruise with our little one. I think most days we may end up doing a beach excursion, (even with those there can be a differences that make one more toddler-friendly than others) but I'd also like to do something different once in a while. SO if anyone has any suggestions regarding some activity that a young toddler might enjoy (or least endure so it's easy on his parents) we'd appreciate it! TIA, Rachel (and DS thanks you too!:) )
Coolmama_1 Posted June 26, 2007 #2 Share Posted June 26, 2007 We did the Scenic Railway in St Kitts and I think a toddler would enjoy that. It is a scenic ride and we saw lots of children and animals along the way. Hope this helps. Enjoy your cruise!:)
rachel0 Posted June 26, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted June 26, 2007 Coolmama 1--wow fast reply, and yes good idea, I didn't even see that one. I think DS would love a rail trip and animals. Thanks so much!
Vanilla Posted June 26, 2007 #4 Share Posted June 26, 2007 How about an excursion at an all inclusive resort? Often the cruise lines offer these and you can use the resorts beach, pool, facilities, dining area and they have playgrounds and water areas for kids. sunsetbeachgal Posted June 26, 2007 #5 Share Posted June 26, 2007 We took our 2 1/2 year old granddaughter to Coral World in St. Thomas in January-she LOVED it. They do feedings, have birds that will land on your shoulder and it is very visual. Take a taxi over there and bring your beach gear-Coki Beach adjoins it and it is a small beach with not-too-rough surf for the little ones. And your Coral World admission lets you back into Coral World to use the bathrooms or showers. Coki Beach has food concessions or Coral World has some snack bars. A very pleasant day! Oh-our taxi driver also gave us coupons for a few dollars off admission.
Andee Posted June 28, 2007 #6 Share Posted June 28, 2007 I completely agree with the idea of taking a taxi to Coral World/Coki Beach. That way, you'll be on your own schedule and can tailor your day to your child's needs.
