cprincess Posted July 11, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 11, 2007 Hi, I'm thinking of booking two different cruises with Celebrity for 2008. The first one is a 5 day out of Miami. And the second is a 11 night from NJ. DH and I are Diamond members with RCCL. With that we automically get concierge privileges when we sail even if we don't book a suite. Can someone please tell me if I will be able to receive the same on Celebrity? And what if any discounts will I be eligible for if booking a balcony room? Thanks so much for your help. hajekfam Posted July 11, 2007 #2 Share Posted July 11, 2007 There is no concierge lounge on Celebrity. The concierge class is a cabin category that provides extra amenities. They are not a club benefit. Upgrades are for inside to inside and oceanview to oceanview, it does not include verandahs, concierge class, or suites - so there is no discount for verandahs. Diamond level is the equivalent of Celebrity Elite. You will need to join Celebrity Captain's club and get their number to even get the few benefits that are offered. From Celebrity Captain's Club benefit page: Classic Level Benefits* One-Category Upgrade Complimentary Custom Air Request Presailing Specialty Restaurant Reservations Priority Embarkation (where available) - Founder Classic Members Only Exclusive Captain's Club Party Captain's Club Premium Booklet filled with valuable onboard offers Preferential Debarkation (where available) - Founder Classic Members Only Reunion Cruises Online Newsletter Additional sailing credit on itineraries of 12 nights or more (maximum of three sailing credits per sailing) Additional sailing credit for booking a Concierge Class stateroom or Suite (maximum of three sailing credits per sailing) **After earning 5 cruise credits Select Member Benefits Includes all benefits of Classic membership, plus: Behind-the-Scenes Tours Chardonnay Blending Seminar Priority Status for Shore Excursion Waitlist Senior Officer's Cocktail party Opportunity to enroll in Royal Caribbean's Crown & Anchor Society program at the Platinum Level Plus all Classic Member Benefits Elite Member Benefits Includes all benefits of Classic & Select membership, plus: Complimentary use of Thalassotherapy Pool on Galaxy and Mercury Private Shipboard Departure Lounge with Continental Breakfast Priority Tender Service Priority Waitlist for Dining Room Seating Opportunity to enroll in Royal Caribbean's Crown & Anchor Society program at the Diamond Level Plus all Select and Classic Member Benefits *** After earning 10 cruise credits TERMS and CONDITIONS Your Membership Status Your Captain's Club membership falls into one of three levels. You can enjoy your new membership benefits on your next sailing on or Celebrity Cruises or Azamara. (Please note: Your membership number will remain the same as you advance to the next level.) Program subject to change without prior notice. Founder Classic Members Founder Classic Members are guests who enrolled prior to October 1, 2002. Custom Air also provides the value of airport transfers and baggage service (for day of sailing arrivals only), which is part of Celebrity Cruises, Inc. standard air program. The program is available to all Captain's Club members and may be withdrawn at any time. A valid Captain's Club membership number must be presented to the reservations agent when making your arrangements. With Custom Air Arrangements, you can plan your air schedule up to 11 months in advance of sailing. Custom Air requests can be booked up to 7 days prior to sailing for North American itineraries and 35 days prior to sailing for European and other international cruises. Presailing Specialty Restaurant Reservations If you're booking a cruise on Century, Constellation, Infinity, Millennium or Summit, you can make dinner reservations 60 days prior to sailing and up to 4 days prior to sailing for one of the Specialty Restaurants. I am Diamond Plus on RCI and the perks are excellent. As Elite on X, there are no perks to speak of, at least not ones that matter to me. No balcony discounts, no Concierge Lounge (which we enjoy for breakfast and a quiet cup of coffee), no worthwhile coupons, no gifts in the cabin, etc. If you book X, do it for the itinerary/experience, not the perks. pegasusa Posted July 11, 2007 #4 Share Posted July 11, 2007 I don't think you can register for Captain's Club until you complete one Celebrity Cruise..........at least that's how it is on RCCL. We've been on two Celebrity cruises and just got back from Bermuda on the Explorer. I keep trying to become Crown & Anchor with no luck. I called yesterday and was told it takes about three weeks for the completed cruise to register. I know the two (Captain's & Crown) may be linked, but have heard conflicting policies. One person said they can be linked after each cruise, another said we had to have 5 Celebrity cruises before they could be linked with Crown & Anchor.

At that level, the privilges - such as they are - are recirprocal. At the two cruise level, there is no recirprocity.
Kapricorn Posted July 11, 2007 #6 Share Posted July 11, 2007 For Elite members: Opportunity to enroll in Royal Caribbean's Crown & Anchor Society program at the Diamond Level. I will be on RCCI next November. Do I need to do any paperwork ("enroll") or will I be automatically a Diamond member? I'm already at the Elite level with Celebrity. Donald. You will need to call Captain's Club to obtain your reciprocal Diamond membership with Crown & Anchor. They'll set up your membership and ensure you receive your privileges

CaroleSP Posted July 11, 2007 #9 Share Posted July 11, 2007 I was able to join C & A with a phone call; piece of cake. I received a letter with coupons along with my Diamond membership cards. They even gave me my numbers in case I wanted to book before the paperwork came. That was several months ago. I just made my first booking; 12 nights on the Explorer and loved the big discount. I can't believe the difference in the perks C & A offers vs CC. The good news is CC can't reduce the paultry benefits any further without taking them away completely! Come on, no more 10 free INternet minutes, no more $2 casino coins. I would have expected my stock to increase drastically after that.
CaroleSP Posted July 11, 2007 #10 Share Posted July 11, 2007 If you plan to continue traveling with either line, you may want to consider purchasing their stock; then you get really nice benefits.
