jandiart Posted July 12, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 12, 2007 I am planning a cruise for my family in March of 2008. Because of the weather uncertainty I would like to add 2 nights pre cruise to a beach front hotel. Which hotels do you recommend?
danp Posted July 12, 2007 #2 Share Posted July 12, 2007 Hi Jan, We enjoy sailing out of San Juan and we usually go down early from NJ because of the weather also.We stay at the Holiday inn in Isle Verdi which is about ten minutes from the airport About $20 cab fare and about twenty minutes from the port about the same price. The hotel is a block from the beach which is a clean beach and just a short stroll from the big hotels. And is a little bit cheaper. As for resturants there is an Outback steak house across the street in the Embassey suites.Or about a block from a pizzareia which is on the main drag and we enjoy the pizza. Hope it helps a little.
ckrobyn Posted July 12, 2007 #3 Share Posted July 12, 2007 I am planning a cruise for my family in March of 2008. Because of the weather uncertainty I would like to add 2 nights pre cruise to a beach front hotel. Which hotels do you recommend? I HIGHLY recommend the Marriott Stellaris Resort and Casino. The hotel is wonderful, the rooms all renovated, the pool and beach area great and the location on the Condado cannot be beat. The price is a bit on the high side with an average per night rate of $335 - but most all hotels in San Juan are expensive (unless you do the Priceline thing and get a great deal). If you check with www.tripadvisor.com and do a search on the Stellaris, you would be hard pressed to find anyone who didn't like it! Good Luck! :)
