Our cruise is coming up in just three weeks!

 

I had tried a couple of months ago to get my son's Crown & Anchor number so he'd receive the nominal coupon book. I wasn't able to use their web site because it asks for the name of the ship that the child had last sailed on, and in our case, that was the Viking Serenade, which is not listed on their web form. When I had called in to speak with a person, I made my request and was told that it would take a month or two before his number would show up in the system.

 

Well, with the cruise coming... in just three weeks!... I thought I'd follow-up on this. I spoke with a Crown & Anchor representative who very quickly gave me my son's number and even applied it to our upcoming reservation! It went so smoothly that I think I was on the phone for just three minutes.

 

He said that my son would get the coupon book (which has very minimal value for him except for the token amount of free Internet time), but he also mentioned a "welcome back" gift. I didn't realize that kids get one, too. It'll be neat to see what he gets.

 

It's a bit of a shame that our younger son doesn't get a coupon book and gift of his own, not that they would necessarily be of much value to him, but at least he'll have something to look forward to for his second cruise next year. Plus, he has the whole first-cruise-ever excitement to keep him occupied!

Yes, that is true.

 

Did you call C&Aor the regular customer service number? Be sure to call C&A directly or ask to be transferred there.

 

I had registered my kids for C&A on-line the first day I could do so back in May but I did not get their numbers. I called C&A, explained we have an upcoming cruise, and she assigned their numbers while I was on the phone and entered them into the reservation. She hesitated at first and gave me the story about them being inundated with requests, etc. I told her I need the numbers NOW for the cruise and gave her the booking number. She then agreed to assign the numbers. Be persistent! Also, if I call and get the "wrong" answer I simply call back and get someone else. I called on a Saturday morning.

I did call C&A directly. The representative told me that our younger son isn't eligible for C&A benefits until he's sailed at least once.

I could be wrong, but I heard that kids got some sort of special crayons or something like that as a gift. Read it on some post. Maybe your kids can share.

Daghis -- I don't know why you were told that about your youngest. My daugther will be three at the time of her first sailing. I've gotten her C&A number, applied it to that reservation, and was told that she will receive her little goodies in our cabin upon arrival. You may want to call back and check again.

I just called back and the woman with whom I spoke agreed with the first representative that we cannot sign up our second son until he's sailed at least once, at which point he's eligible to be signed up under a "family relationship" which then links his status to ours.

I just called the Crown & Anchor desk and enrolled my kids. They are now platinum members soon to be Diamond.

 

The person gave me their C&A numbers right over the phone, peace of cake.
