Baltic Cruise sea sickness

We sailed last year in May. Only one really rough night - crossing from Poland to Norway. One of the roughest nights I have ever experienced at sea! The captain warned everyone early in the evening (it was formal night).

After 10pm it was quiet all over the ship. We had a forward cabin and did feel the motion. If you are prone to sea sickness, be prepared for that particular crossing. Sailing later in the season you might not have a problem. Enjoy the trip - it is fast paced but very interesting ports.

Its all a matter of luck. We did the Baltic from England and crossed the North Sea under suuny skies and calm seas. But you cannot count on sea conditions. Best to bring Bonine, or if you need to the patch.

Bonine should be taken the night before the sailing.

thanks for your quick response. When we were on an Alaska Inner Passage cruise we hit some rough seas. We had these pressure point bracelets that seemed to work, but have since misplaced them.

I hope the Sea is calm when we sail.

They're called Sea Bands, and we found them at our local CVS drugstore with the dramamine, bonine, etc. They work quite well.

We sailed on RCI a couple of weeks ago and the seas were almost like glass. We thought we were incredibly lucky - not one day of turbulence!

We've also done the Baltic twice, and had smooth seas both times.

On one of the trips, the North Sea en route to England was mildly rough, but nothing to write home about.

There are no guarantees on the water - smooth one trip, rough the next.
