MINIjen Posted August 18, 2007 #1 Share Posted August 18, 2007 This totem pole is near Creek Street in Ketchikan. Does anyone know the name or have any information on it?
Yukon Posted August 18, 2007 #2 Share Posted August 18, 2007 That's the Chief Johnson or Kadjuk pole, which was erected there in 1901 by Chief Johnson, head of the Kadjuk House of the local Raven clan. There used to be a community house behind it. The bird on top of the pole is the mythical Kadjuk bird, not an eagle as most people assume.
