Upgrades at Pier

When do you ask to speak to the Pier Coordinator? Do you wait in the check in lines and then ask at the desk or is there a separate line somewhere?

 

We actually checked in with our set sail pass, then we went over to the pier coordinator, which was a few stations over and got our upgrade. They just changed everything to reflect our new room. No issue with luggage - very easy process. Not bad to be upgraded from an inside to a promenade for only $50.

we just went on the Liberty OS Aug 11 and when checking in

at the peir we were told we got upgraded. the agent did not

know what kind of room.. thank god I found a map and looked.

it was a balcony. we had an outside cabin booked and got upgraded

to a balcony. I would have rather stayed in my original room.

the new one was way too noisy. people going up and down

the hallway all night long... LOUDLY.

of coarse they promised our luggage would get transfered..

by calling the luggage manager.. IT WAS NOT. I had to go

get it myself.... late of coarse.. my cabin steward tried. but could

not find it. what a pain in the behind..

There is a seperate line and you are suppose to check in first. However, one of you get in the check in and one get in the Pier Co-ordinator line and co-oridinate yourselves. You know, wave, jump up and down and make sure each of the check in people see you both. :p

Hello, NECG (Bill)... How are you??? And your lovely wife!!! We miss cruising with you!! I'm leaving the old shallow water sailor home this December and taking mom on the Mariner for her 75th birthday! Can you beleive she has never sailed on a Voyager Class ship? I hope you are both doing well... We miss sailing with you! Actually Robert retired after almost 30 years with the Coast Guard... and we've been busy this year.. so my December cruise with mom will be the first one in 2007 --- hmmm something wrong here!

 

Oh... upgrades... hmmm... we have gotten a couple of good upgrades since we've become Diamond Plus... I think most of the upgrades (if there are any) are handed out to Diamond Plus before the sail date... but that is a guess on my part!

Hi Linda - We were just talking about you the other day while visiting some friends who were with us on the Mariner inaugural. I know that Roland has been asking for you as well. Thanks for the update. Rita tried to email you but the address didn't work.

As you can see, we have a few cruises coming up this year and next. Say hi to your Mom for us. We had a great time with her in London and on that Brilliance Transatlantic. Hope Robert is enjoying his retirement. Rita is busy on her second career after over 30 years with the bank, but she really loves this job and is doing very well. When we were on the Mariner with you I was about to undergo chemotherapy treatment for lymphoma and that went very well. Just had a bout with skin cancer that required some surgery and radiation but that too is behind us.

When there is a sign that says "no upgrades at the pier" there may still be upgrades available at guest relations after you get on board... and even when it says "the ship is sold out"... always ask at the front desk on board. One of the best upgrades we ever got was when the sign said "sold out"...
