cunardqueen Posted September 11, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 11, 2007 A small feature in The Sun today featuring "The ships former Maitre d'hotel David Chambers" giving the extent of the thieving as QE2 was being built. QE2-The last Great Liner is on BBC2 Scotland on Monday 17th Sept at 9pm Should be an interesting programme, the same details are mentioned in the Scottish Daily Mail Guess next week we can expect to see all kinds of features in the newspapers Did anybody happen to see the feature by the Daily Express on Sunday? If you didnt know better then reading the feature QE2 was heading for Dubai right after the 40th Anniversary Cruise. There will also be a big feature in the Ships Monthly magazine out on sale from the 20th Sep this month again relating to QE2 The old girl can still make the headlines & pull the crowds :D Cheers Myles
Fifer Posted September 11, 2007 #2 Share Posted September 11, 2007 As you say, we can expect all kinds of features and all kinds of errors! The Daily Record also has the thieving story with David Chambers being quoted at length - http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/news/tm_headline=revealed-clydeside-pilferers-who-held-up-qe2-s-1st-cruise&method=full&objectid=19766016&siteid=66633-name_page.html. Incidentally, I believe David is still Maitre D' of the Queens Grill and will remain so until Dubai. Gavin
