Rewards Program and On Board Credit

Going on NCL Dawn cruise to nowhere this weekend. Planning on two more NCL cruises in 2008. Say I buy two rewards program certificates for $250 each to use as a future deposit when I am onboard and I receive $100 on board credit for each one. Do I have to use the whole $200 OBC on my current cruise? Also, I understand that the OBC can't be used toward tipping or the casino but can it be used toward the extra fee to get into Cagney's?

The $250 will be charged to your on board account. So you will see the $250 as a charge and the $100 as a credit. Doesn't really matter what your other expenses are.

It's a beautiful thing.

So I guess you can buy as many as you want and the additional OBCs will go against the cost of each on that cruise.

So it is costing you only $150 to buy a $250 deposit on a future cruise for one stateroom when normally deposits are $250 per person. So a $1,000 deposit for a quad room will become a $250 deposit which will cost you $150 if you buy the certificate on your current cruise. COOL!

As you can tell I really like this program.

We spent the $150 for a deposit for four on a 10 day cruise. We've been able to keep the $1,450 in our account instead of NCL's for over a year.

AMEN to that, sister! I am a firm believer in NOT allowing NCL (or any other organization, for that fact!) the free use of MY money for longer than necessary.
