southwardbound Posted October 29, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 29, 2007 Looking for feedback on the Doubletree Galleria One, Embassy - 17th, or the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort. We will be in Fort Lauderdale post cruise for the day, our flight leaves at 8:45pm. We were looking for a fun way to spend our last day of vacation before going back to reality!:) Your imput is appreciated. There are (3) young adults and (2) older adults in our party. southwardbound Posted October 30, 2007 Author #4 Share Posted October 30, 2007 What would the cab fee or shuttle to the airport from these hotels run for 5 of us? Also are there plenty of places besides the hotel to eat ?
BlueHerons Posted October 30, 2007 #5 Share Posted October 30, 2007 I wrote this on another post but my vote goes to the Doubletree Galleria because you are within stumbling distance of Seasons 52 (fabulous restaurant) and Blue Martini (fabulous bar with fabulous live music). http://www.seasons52.com/ http://www.bluemartinilounge.com/ Big fun! aarep Posted October 30, 2007 #6 Share Posted October 30, 2007 We stayed at the Doubletree Gallery One in May after our cruise. After leaving the ship we arrived at the hotel at about 10:00am and were able to check in our room at that time. Right next door to the Galleria Mall with a fabulous food court. Also some nice restaurants there. Small but nice pool area and sandy lounging area in back of hotel on waterway. Water taxi stops at hotel. Cab fare to the airport was approx. $25.00 with tip. Hotel has been recently revovated and rooms are extremely nice. About a 3 block walk across the drawbridge on Sunrise Blvd to the beach.

PatriciaS Posted October 31, 2007 #8 Share Posted October 31, 2007 I vote for the Hilton. Great pool and restaurant overlooking the ocean, it's beachside, and there are restaurants all along A1A on the beach. Check to be sure that you can stay just for the day.
