Brother just booked a cruise on the Ecstasy for this Monday. I told him I would try to find out some info for him. Haven't cruised Carnival for a while so lots of questions.
1. What time do they start checkin at Long Beach?
2. How much dose Carnival charge for tips and is it envelop or account?
3. Is soda/pop included if not do they have soda cards?
4. What are the extras? (tote bag/bathrobe/fruit bowl/playing cards?ect.)
5. How dose disembarkation work? Stay in rooms or go to lounge to wait?
6. Movie theater or in room movies?
7. Breakfast and lunch open seating?

Any additional info would be great:)

11am-noon

2. How much dose Carnival charge for tips and is it envelop or account?
Approximately $10 p/p each day. It's put on your S&S account by default.

3. Is soda/pop included if not do they have soda cards?
They have "soda cards".

4. What are the extras? (tote bag/bathrobe/fruit bowl/playing cards?ect.)
"Outside" cabins get robes for use during the cruise. You can ask for cards/order fruit from room svc.

5. How dose disembarkation work? Stay in rooms or go to lounge to wait?
Go to lounge. Have the choice of waiting for colors or "self-debark"

6. Movie theater or in room movies?
In-room

7. Breakfast and lunch open seating?
Yes

The previous poster answered your questions pretty well. I'd just like to add that your brother has the option of removing the prepaid tips from his account and doing his own tipping. That's what we do. The folks that provide us service always make out better that way. Just go to the pursors desk and ask to have them removed. Or he can adjust the tips up and down as he sees fit. The tips for a 7 day sail run between 80 and 90 per person.

For debarkation, you can go to the longe or any open area of the ship. Lido deck, etc.
