donnar Posted November 11, 2007 #1 Share Posted November 11, 2007 My family and I want to go on the Dawn this summer again and we are thinking about going either Aug 3 or Aug 10 but they have something on the itierney (sp) about being at anchor. Can someone please explain what that is. Thanks.
Bennett'sCruise Posted November 11, 2007 #2 Share Posted November 11, 2007 *At Anchor* means the anchor is down ... as in *At Anchor in the Bay* ... which means you will use a tender to get to port. You are NOT tied up at the dock ... No probs there ... kinda fun taking the tenders ... you just have to plan for extra time getting to shore ... Have a great cruise! ~dianne
donnar Posted November 11, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted November 11, 2007 WOW thanks for that quick reply--I thought that is what it meant but wasnt' sure. Now do we have to be on the ship by a certain time even if the next day we won't be at anchor?

Toyz711 Posted November 11, 2007 #5 Share Posted November 11, 2007 if should mean that you will be "anchored" until a position at the docks is open, then they will more to the docks. not sure if the tenders at king's wharf run all night..
tekmom Posted November 11, 2007 #6 Share Posted November 11, 2007 We are booked on the August 3rd trip. On Wed 8am-Fri 7am we are docked at the pier. At 7am Friday they move out a little bit and drop anchor. We will be anchored from 9am til 5pm when we leave Bermuda for home. The first two days we are docked at the pier, we'll do Hamilton and St Georges stuff. That Friday, we'll stay a little closer to the Dockyard. The price is more reasonable and we don't mind the tender the last day.
