BBigfoot613 Posted November 20, 2007 #2 Share Posted November 20, 2007 I am new to cruising and have been doing alot of "research" on cruises and and the victory before my first cruise next year. I found a site (http://www.cruisedeckplans.com) that has alot of intersting info on cruise ships. On this site I found a page that might have what you are looking for. Hope this helps some. http://www.cruisedeckplans.com/DP/Carnival/fleet/victory/PublicRoomandFacilities.htm

Perrys100 Posted November 20, 2007 #5 Share Posted November 20, 2007 Hello...I sailed on the spirit to alaska this last september and they have an all electronic version of hold'em. they ran tournies all week. it went fast and anties went up really quickly. They only paid 2 places. I read that they have installed these in all 22 ships. We will be on the victory in a few weeks. I hope i can win :) another tourny. well I came in second and from a 60 buy in I got back 150.

Glama Posted November 20, 2007 #7 Share Posted November 20, 2007 Haven't sailed the Victory, but every other CCL cruise we've taken has had poker. My DH enjoys 3 card poker, and does quite well. During the day, you can find some $5 tables, but in the evenings, most are $10.

When did they start this? Seven Carnival cruises, one as recently as last month, and I've seen nothing but $5 min tables, with one BJ table at $25. nanashirl Posted November 20, 2007 #9 Share Posted November 20, 2007 I don't think they are talking about POKER. Must be talking about BJ or 3 card poker at the tables but not Poker tables. Have seen a poker room for people to play poker!
sharonny Posted November 21, 2007 #10 Share Posted November 21, 2007 The Victory had at least one electronic poker table (maybe 2). Son played it every night, table was always full. He made out pretty good. They did also have some card tables - Caribbean Poker, Blackjack, Let it Ride and others.

RzrLens Posted November 21, 2007 #12 Share Posted November 21, 2007 I know not all casinos (in my area anyway) have poker tables... I have no idea if the ones on cruise ships do, but my husband is hoping the Carnival Victory does.. anyone know? Thanks! Since it's a sister ship to the Valor, I would assume it has the same tables. The Valor had the PokerPro Table, which is an electronic form of Texas Hold Em. It was $1/$2 no limit. There is no dealer. Basically how it works is that each seat at the table has a small LCD screen. What you see resembles (actually looks identical to) what you would see if you played poker online. Your hand is shown face down and you much touch the cards to view them (you shield them like you would in a normal poker game). You then bet with the electronic chips (you have to load money on a card similar to a credit card at the cashiers desk, then swipe it to start playing. your chips are on the screen). The "pot" and the community cards are on a 40 inch plasma screen display in the middle of the table. My DH LOVES poker and actually grew fond of the tables while we were cruising. He liked not having a dealer b/c he was able to save a couple of bucks by not having to tip. The game goes a lot faster than a regular table game of poker which was a plus. The screen and the betting you have to get used to, but if your husband is used to playing poker online as well, he shouldn't have a problem with the PokerPro table.
