Radiance of the Seas - Dry Dock this winter?

We are scheduled for a Hawaiian Cruise (from Ensanada) in May 08.

Somewhere I saw post about the Radiance going into Dry Dock?

Also saw many posts about folks unhappy with the Radiance...

Can anyone tell me about RCCL Crown and Anchor cruises? How do they differ (if at all) from "normal" cruises?

thank you in advance for any replies!

Hi Cindy..........Radiance, from what we have been told, is scheduled to go into Dry Dock in April of 2008. so the ship should be in great shape for your Hawaii cruise.

Radiance is our most favorite ship...........have sailed her 6 times........because the staff and crew are some of the best. Everyone has their own expectations about a cruise..........so you will get varying opinions about each ship. What I might like on Radiance, you might not and vice versa.

We just returned from the C&A 14 day Member's cruise on Radiance in September to Alaska/Pacific Coastal. It was the best cruise we have had on Radiance. The Member's cruise is different because the C&A staff is on board for the entire cruise.

The C&A staff was headed up by Rachel Hancock and they all went above and beyond the call of duty to make everyone feel so very special. We received 8 gifts during the cruise that were delivered to our cabin on various nights. There were special activities planned on sea day.....there was a free excursion offered to D/D+ pax..........we just had a wonderful time. Each Member's cruise is different..........this was our third......and it seems that they just keep getting better and better.

I do hope that you will have a wonderful cruise on the C&A Member's cruise on Radiance to Hawaii.

Thank you for taking the time to write about the Radiance. Sounds great!

Gee April 08 - any idea what they plan to do to her while she is in dry dock? I hope not too much, May 3rd is is early in the month, it would be a real disappointment if the ship wasn't ready in time.

C&A cruising sounds like a lot of fun too! Special gifts, special events and the C&A staff, May can't come quick enough!

We are on deck 10, back of the ship - should be wonderful.

If there is more you would like to share about Radiance I would love to listen. We did a transatlantic a few years ago on the Brilliance and loved it.

My husband and I really enjoy the days at sea to unwind.

Does anyone have any knowledge on the noise level of adjoining cabins on Deck eight? We are trying to decide on a cabin. Thanks for your input!

In all of our cruises on Radiance, we have never experienced any noise between cabins. Now, if the couple on either side of you are having an all out blow out..........you just might hear something!;)

We had an adjoining cabin on our cruise last April, and we heard nothing from the folks next door.

The dry dock is to install new diesel (spelling?) engines. I'm on Serenade when she comes out of dry dock in March 08 so I was a little nervous being on the 1st cruise out of dry dock. The Jewel of the Seas just completed its dry dock and cruisers on her right after had no complaints.
