msu11y28 Posted November 27, 2007 #1 Share Posted November 27, 2007 Does Carnival require that all luggage be locked with one of those mini-padlocks? Just needed some clarification as I think I read this somewhere but know the airlines may cut them off. Is it okay to check luggage on Carnival with just a ziptie? OceanDreamin Posted November 27, 2007 #2 Share Posted November 27, 2007 I've used zip ties on my last two Carnival cruises and had no problem.
cherylandtk Posted November 27, 2007 #3 Share Posted November 27, 2007 Carnival recommends that you lock the luggage (many folks use zipties for this) as it is out of their control while being loaded on the ship and when it is left in the hallways. If you use TSA locks you can put them on before you get on the plane. Otherwise, use zipties or put the lock on after the airport before you get to the cruise port. blindrid Posted November 27, 2007 #4 Share Posted November 27, 2007 TSA locks are used when TSA employees need to search the luggage - TSA does not search the bags for the cruise line. Do what you want.
cb at sea Posted November 27, 2007 #5 Share Posted November 27, 2007 TSA regulations DON'T apply to the ships! LOCK YOUR BAGS!!!! ALWAYS!!!!
