America's Cup

We have done the America's Cup Reggatta in St. Martin twice and loved it.

We are going on a 3 day cruise in Febrauary to the Bahamas. I see an America's Cup listed as a shore excursion.

I have seen the St. Martin one mentioned many times but not the one in the Bahamas.

Is the Bahamas the one as good as the one in St Matin?

I'd really like to know this, too. We have done it in St. Maarten as well, and were thinking of trying it in Nassau. I did notice there is a price is different for each location, $109 vs $87. Any thoughts on why this would be?

They appear fairly similar.

Here are the web sites for each:

St. Maarten: http://www.12metre.com/

Nassau: http://www.sailnassau.com/

Obviously, they use different boats.

In St. Maarten the boats are True North I (KC-87), Stars and Stripes '87 (US-55), Stars and Stripes (US-56), Canada II (KC-2), and True North IV (KC-IV). These were all designed for the 1987 Americas Cup in Freemantle, Australia. In Nassau they are NZL 10 and NZL 12.
