crusinmama22 Posted December 14, 2007 #1 Share Posted December 14, 2007 We are sailing out of Bayone, NJ Feb 24, we are leaving from the Albany, NY area, does anyone know an easy way to get to NJ. I would prefer not to drive, but it seems like a train is very complicated. Does Royal Caribbean have transfers I can purchase -- does anyone know ? Any info you have would be helpful. I have read the other thread -- but I was looking for other information. Thanks.
WeLuvVacation Posted December 14, 2007 #2 Share Posted December 14, 2007 They have bus service to the pier from some cities. Call the "day of departure" number to find out if Albany is served.

I traveled from Baltimore to Bayone last aug & it was well worth the $'s paid to able to sit back and relax & enjoy the ride ....:)
JJSMaine Posted December 14, 2007 #4 Share Posted December 14, 2007  Someone should record and post a video of driving to the port from the I-95 exit...

torpeedo Posted December 14, 2007 #6 Share Posted December 14, 2007 Driving to that port is not for the faint of heart! I got lost even with my navigation system! If you can get a ride with the RCI transportation services, I would recommend it!
traveling1969 Posted December 15, 2007 #7 Share Posted December 15, 2007 We just did a Mapquest request and the directions were clear and detailed. We are from Oswego NY. It was a piece of cake. Parking has increased to $16 a day but there were 4 of us and there is no way we could have done it any cheaper than by driving. Bon Voyage! TwoGee Posted December 15, 2007 #9 Share Posted December 15, 2007 CRUISINMAMA22: You should check with any of the bus/shuttle services in the Albany area to see if they offer port services. You can park your car in their lots and they provide the easy ride to and from. We took a shuttle(8 of us) in July to the pier in Manhatten. It was well worth it. Good Luck:)

Don't know if they did. We are leaving on Feb 15th from Albany with an overnight at the Embassy Suites is Ft.Lauderdale then 16th the Radiance for 8 days. We are flying. Don't have 12 days at this time of the year since we are teachers. Thanks for all the good advise.
welove2cruisedou Posted December 18, 2007 #11 Share Posted December 18, 2007 HI, I am from (Albany)LOL. Not really but very close to the airport. My Husband and I have taken a cruise outta Bayonne twice. It is actually quite easy. If you know how to get to the Meadowlands racetrack, it is not to far from there. Just make sure you are going east not west or you will be driving away from the cruise ship. We printed directions from Mapquest, they are not that great. Let me see if I can dig them outta my cruise stuff and I will let you know. I would start off getting on the New York State Thruway near Crossgates Mall exit, but stay to the right to get on the Thruway. Let me get back to you later because I know I have the directions around here somewhere. If you drive fast like my husband does, then it should only take about 2-2 1/2 hours to get there from "Albany". Have fun on your cruise...Are you going on the Explorer of the Seas?
